Medications/Injuries: n/a
Good with people? She is very timid and nervous with new surroundings and people and it takes her a long time to warm up. She is better with females. She does bark and growl at men. A stern no and she usually quits and walks away. She is not aggressive.
Children? Would not recommend small/young children as she is very anxious and timid.
Dogs? Yes! She NEEDS to be with another confident dog. She is submissive and thrives in a pack.
Cats? No
Other animals? Would not recommend anything smaller than her as she has a prey drive.
House trained? Yes
Crate trained? Yes
Energy level: Medium - Can run and play and then curl up on the couch and watch movies with you
Travel well? No - she needs to medicated to ride in the car as she gets so nervous
Favorite toy/activity: Being outdoors running in the backyard with the others. Loves the kiddie pool!
Leash trained? She needs to be double leashed as she tries to bolt to the opposite direction from which you are trying to go.
Fence needed: YES! She has a high prey drive and is a flight risk in new situations.
Lady was rescued from a hoarding situation and had very little human contact. She had no social skills and was shut down. She is still very timid and nervous - especially in new situations. She is not small animal friendly at all and has a huge prey drive, so cats, guinea hens, rabbits are all a no for her. She gets along with all dogs with no aggression at all. She is house broken and crate trained. She does require a fenced yard as she gets nervous easily. Her ideal home would be one with a single woman who is home most of the time and has another confident dog already that can help Lady to become more confident herself. She needs a lot of time and patience - we know the perfect home is out there for her somewhere. If you think it could be yours, apply today!
