**AVAILABLE** Please Share Lady! 12 Month Old Female Please be within 60-90 minutes of Delmar NY. Exceptions for the right match for Lady, will be considered. We are helping one of our local vet hospitals who saved Lady’s life from euthanasia. They feel she deserves a home who understands the needs of a young German Shepherd, and so do we, especially after working and training with Lady. More information on Lady: -Needs confident, experienced handler- -12 months old. -Spayed and up to date on vetting. -Rides well crated in a car. -Potty trained. -Crate trained -Never lived with cats or dogs. Timid of other dogs and not a fan of them, but tolerant when seeing them on walks. She doesn’t react or bark, even when they bark at her. -Will only be placed as an only dog. -Medium Energy level -Can be anxious in new situations, but also settles well when given direction. -Good with sharing food and toys (no resource guarding) -Friendly/aloof/tolerant with strangers. -Will jump up on people, and is mouthy, easily corrected when on leash, more difficult off leash- which contributed to her losing her home. She needs to continue training for this behavior, which was never worked on. This girl was purchased from a breeder and belonged to her owners who are in their 80’s. As she grew they realized having a young pup was too much to handle. Training was never offered. Looking for a calm, adult home. An adopter who has time and experience and willingness to continue her daily training and hire a trainer as needed. Someone who will devote their time to a big puppy who’s just leaning rules and boundaries. She has a lot of potential for the right match. She really wants to learn and enjoys staying engaged. Excellent walking/hiking/running companion. She really enjoys being with her person. She can also self entertain with toys.
