08/15/07 - Update - Lady Carrollton was assessed by individuals familar with the Leonberger breed and it is believed that Lady Carrollton aka Chloe is a full Leonberger. Although Leo's are fairly rare, she was found in a rural setting in Ohio, not far from Amish countryside. At the time Lady was rescued, she had already had some basic training and had been spayed, so she obviously had a good home at some point and time in her past. She is an exceptional dog and needs the same in her new home. She has a heavy double coat so her new family will need to be ok with wearing her hair as part of their daily life. We would like to also request that her adoptive family join the Leo Rescue group to help learn about this breed and help her adjust to her new home.
Lady Carrollton is a spectacular female Leonberger. At around almost one year old and already 70 Lbs, Lady Carrolton is going to be a big girl. Although a big girl, Lady Carrollton still has a lot of puppy left in her. She knows her basic commands including sit, shake, and lay down, so she must have had a guardian who took the time to train her before she was found as a stray. Lady Carrolton behaves like, well like a lady, in her foster home, and gets along well with a pair of Golden Retrievers who also live there.
Lady Carrolton is currently living in a foster home and may not be available at all of the DogsOnly adoption showings at the west Little Rock Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot every Sat and Sun from 1-4. Please be sure and call (501-219-9907) before you come to visit her to make sure that she is still available for adoption. Lady Carrolton has received a complete medical evaluation, alter, all shots, rabies, fecal and worming medication, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, micro-chipping, and grooming. If believe that you might have the perfect family home for Lady Carrolton, you are invited to send an email to
