My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Lally (or Lola), an 8-year-old poodle/cairn terrier mix looking for a loving home in Minnesota. This sweet girl was surrendered by her previous owners in Texas and is now ready for a fresh start. Lally is friendly with people of all ages and gets along well with other dogs. She is quiet, leash trained, crate trained, and does well in the car. Although she is skittish and shy around new people and pets, she warms up with time and patience. Lally needs a bit of help with potty training, but with a consistent routine, she'll get the hang of it. Lally enjoys lounging around, either with her dog friends or in her "safe space." She likes to hide between and under chairs and is anxious and scared of loud noises, so she would do best in a quieter home. Once she feels comfortable, she loves to be petted and cuddled on the couch. Lally sleeps and eats in her crate, making her feel secure. If you're looking for a gentle, sweet companion who needs a little extra love and patience, Lally is the perfect match. Give this timid girl a chance to shine in a calm and loving environment. Lally is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/10/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 5pm and 9pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
