LARA

Lara is a truly beautiful 1-year-old Great Pyrenees girl. Her dense, thick coat will is relatively short and easy care, although she will still need daily combing to prevent matting. She is about 80 pounds. Lara is very affectionate and happy, but is still a little timid with new experiences as she has not had a great deal of exposure to the world.. She is submissive but very playful with other dogs, kind and gentle to cats, super loving with people. She is great friends with Gaia, a loving young female Pyr who is also available. She does best when she is with at least one other, confident dog. She is good friends with Gaia, another young female Pyr who is also adoptable. Lara is a livestock guardian dog (LGD); she is alert to any threats to her family. LGDs bark -- loud, deep barks -- to let predators know that there is a guardian on duty. They are couch potatoes most of the time; when they are in working mode, however, they are powerful, strong-willed dogs who have been bred for centuries to think and work independently. Secure, sturdy fencing at least 6 feet high will prevent Lara from trying to chase away threats such as mountain lions. (Note that one Pyr cannot engage with a mountain lion -- you must have at least two if you want them to serve as guardians against lions or tigers or bears.) Lara is fully house trained and is polite in the house. She uses a dog door. She is responsive and easy to direct. This beautiful girl will give her heart to her family. She is a cuddler. Lara has been vet checked, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites. Lara has a full Embark DNA profile available.
