Hi there, thanks for stopping by Larry's page! Larry has had a pretty tough start to life, yet still has immense amounts of love and affection to give to his future forever family. At four years of age, Larry had never stepped foot inside a home. He was brought in by animal control to a local Georgia shelter when he and 5 other dogs were found on a property where they lived outdoors year-round after their owner passed away. Despite never having lived in a home prior to July 1st, Larry has made HUGE strides with acclimating to his foster home. As he has slowly learned to trust people, his goofy, sweet disposition has become more and more apparent. When he first arrived, something as small as one of us sneezing sent him cowering into another room. While he has already gained an immense amount of confidence and sneezes are no longer as nearly as scary, he is still early on in his journey to fully learning how to "dog". His future family will have to be patient, and willing to utilize positive reinforcement training to help him build the confidence he deserves to have! Above all else, Larry is very easy-going and his most favorite activity is to quietly observe whatever you might be doing; his ideal day entails a short walk, a well-earned nap, and some time spent working diligently to survey the contents of the toy box. Weighing in at only about 30 pounds, he is the perfect size. Larry currently lives in a foster home with another dog, whom he absolutely adores and has learned quite a lot from. He has met several over dogs as well, all of whom he's done excellent with. He has also come into contact with cats, who's he's been respectful towards and even a little bit intimidated by. This little guy has so much love to give, and the fact that he hasn't let his difficult past stop him from trying to love and trust humans just shows us how ready he is to finally find his forever. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
