Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Date into Rescue: 1/20/2024
Reason for being in rescue: stray
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Laura Nelly is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
Weight: 32 lbs
Height: 14 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $299
Fence needed? Yes, Laura is a high-energy girl and needs a physically fenced-in yard of 4 feet or higher to give her an additional outlet for her energy. Expect to be walking this young lady daily!
What kind of home would be best for me? Laura Nelly is a highly energetic and playful girl. Some might call her a wild child; we just call her an attention seeker. Her energetic nature can be overwhelming at times. She is a good girl who simply needs an adopter to work with her on getting her energy out whether it's a game of fetch until she tires out or a long hike in the woods with you. Laura is the type of dog you take hiking frequently and she is looking for an adopter who is very on the go. Laura needs another dog in the home to help teach her the ropes of being a dog, the larger the dog the happier she is. She doesn't mind dogs smaller than her, but she simply overwhelms them most of the time. Her ideal home has someone home more than they are away.
What is my personality like? Found as an emaciated, balding stray, Laura Nelly has really blossomed in rescue. Gone are the sad, hungry, itchy days. With a new healthy life has come a whole personality!
Laura Nelly is highly energetic. She has a rough play style; our bet is she wasn't around dogs much as a young dog! She does best with other high-energy dogs, the more energy they have the better! Laura loves to be with people, she is incredibly affectionate and loves to be snuggled up against you. Laura is very much a lover!
Laura Nelly needs taught her basic commands like sit, stay, down, and come. She so desperately wants someone to love her as much as she loves people. If you adopt her, you will have a bouncy, happy, never dull, fun filled life ahead of you.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Laura Nelly LOVES people but can be overly energetic and a tad pushy when wanting attention. She will jump on you if you don't pay attention to her. This habit can be broken by her adopter with caring correction. Give her one on one time and will calm down after a few minutes because she loves being loved on.
Other tips and tidbits: Laura Nelly was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition, our veterinary partner estimated her around a year old when she arrived in rescue. We celebrate Laura Nelly's birth date as 1/20/2023.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
