My Story

THE FOLLOWING PET IS BEING FOSTERED IN FORT COLLINS, CO! Meet Layla, an endearing young dog with a heart as big as her affectionate nature. This sweet pup faced a rocky start, surrendered and nearly euthanized due to her exuberant nature. Layla may be initially reserved, taking her time to trust new surroundings and people, but once she opens up, she's an absolute delight—a true lovebug with a penchant for play, particularly with balls and ropes. Her intelligence shines through, highlighted by her adorable head tilts as she processes your words. Layla's smile is infectious, especially when she's reveling in belly rubs. She is potty trained and crate trained. She is currently spending six weeks at a board and train in Texas (before returning to Fort Collins, Colorado), where she has been a star pupil, especially with her leash walking skills. She can get excited, but is quick to learn and easily redirected. Currently mastering basic commands, Layla seeks a patient and understanding family familiar with her breed, dedicated to her training journey with positive reinforcement. Layla does best with easy-going, dog-friendly dogs. She would do well in a calm household with older or no kids. She would thrive in a home with a yard to call her own, where she can enjoy outdoor adventures and playtime. Her ideal home is one without cats. Layla, born in December 2022, is a remarkable companion deserving of a second chance at happiness. **Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, and microchip with registration.
