Meet Leia! Leia is a beautiful American Foxhound/Beagle mix! She is heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. Leia was born around 06/25/20 and weighs only 26 lbs. as of 06/26/24. She was found emaciated on the highway, though her personality does not reflect she was abused or neglected! She is in foster care and doing well. She is a very sweet and gentle girl with a lot of love to give. Please apply to give her the loving home she deserves. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport.
