Loyal. Affectionate. Playful. Protective. Cheerful. Those are some words that come to mind to describe little Leopold. Leopold is an adorable two year old 29lb shortstack who's as cuddly as a teddy bear. One look at that sweet smile of his and you'll be enchanted! We'll admit, Leopold has a touch of "little man syndrome" and tries to act like he's much bigger and tougher than he is. At heart, he's an affectionate and caring guy who will be fiercely loyal to those he loves. With his loyalty comes a promise of unwavering companionship and endless devotion. Because he can be a bit slow to warm up to new people, a home with older dog savvy kids or teenagers would be best. He can be startled by fast movements of little ones. Leopold is housebroken and intelligent, eager to learn and eager to please. He's treat-motivated which helps with his training. He is interested in meeting other dogs even though he can act like a tough guy at first, barking and pulling. But with slow introductions and positive reinforcement, he can make friends with male and female dogs alike. If you have another dog at home, we can talk to you about whether we think they'll be a good match. Of course he'll be happy to be spoiled as an only dog as well. Leopold is far too interested in felines, however, so a cat-free home is best. Oh, and did we mention he loves watching TV? It's hilarious really!! He'll sit right in front of the TV and keep an eye on all the characters, especially if they're animals! The past year has been rough for Leopold. From landing in a shelter and bouncing from home to home, it's time for Leopold to finally find his FOREVER spot with a loving family committed to keeping this boy around the rest of his days! The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi. We conduct virtual meet and greets for out-of-town applicants and can provide for transport (fee added to cost of adoption) to many northeastern states. At this time we are not able to transport into Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine or Rhode Island.
