Meet Lexi, a beautiful young female German Shepherd. She is simply stunning. Smart, athletic and very loyal which is typical of most shepherds. Lexi gets along with many of our dogs at the shelter and would probably do well in a home with an adult dog after proper introductions. Also, a home with adults or older children. Lexi will take time to warm up to strangers but when she does, Lexi becomes a totally different dog. We have witnessed this transformation with our staff several times and once Lexi trusts you she becomes so excited to see her people and to give them affection and kisses. With all Lexi’s energy an active home that can keep up with her would be ideal. We think she would make a great jogging or hiking partner. A strong handler, who has experience with German Shepherds that can continue to provide Lexi with ongoing training and direction is recommended. Kennel life is not the best situation for dogs and Lexi is no exception. She truly deserves a chance for her best life.
