When she first arrived at the shelter, she was a bit underweight, but his energy was boundless. Lexie’s eager spirit is truly infectious, but she’s in need of some guidance and training to help her become the best canine companion. Lexie has already mastered the “sit”, “paw”, “other paw”, and “down” command, showing her potential for learning. However, she’ll thrive best with positive-based training methods to refine her leash manners and socializing with other animals. She can get a little jumpy and pull on the leash, so some leash manner training will be beneficial. Lexie can be a bit forward and rushes in when meeting other dogs, for this reason, a home without other dogs for the time being may be the ideal choice. She will need slow and supervised introductions when meeting other dogs. This will take time and patience and would be best handled with a trainer. She’s a bit too focused around rabbits and cats, so a pet-free environment would suit her best. This active girl is all about adventure and exploration. To keep her happy and healthy, she’ll require both mental and physical stimulation to expend her energy and keep her curious mind engaged. A fully fenced yard is recommended allowing her to run and play to her hearts content.
