Leyna

We recently rescued sweet 9 month old Leyna (born April 2004) from a local Amish puppy mill last month, where she was destined to become "breeding stock." She would have lived out her entire life in that puppy mill in a small wire cage 24 hrs a day, breeding litter after litter of cute, profitable puppies to fill some pet store window. But no more! Now Leyna will get a chance to run, play w/ other dogs, feel grass under her feet, to chase balls, to cuddle in your lap. She is a purebred Australian Cattle Dog (AKC registration pending.) A little bit shy at first, she is very quickly becoming more outgoing and is very very affectionant. She is extremely smart and eager to learn....she loves treats, so will be easy to train.....knows "sit" and "wave" and "down" already. Because she is still a little nervous w/ sudden movements and loud noises, she would probably do best in a home w/out the noise and chaos of very young children. :-) Leyna gets along very well w/ the other dogs. She will make some lucky person a lovely companion or perhaps agility competitor.... wants nothing more than to be by your side. As with all our dogs, we will only consider potental homes where the dog will be a treasured family companion living inside the home, and where there is a securely fenced yard for her safety.
