My name is Lieutenant Schrank and I'm an adult Maltese/ Shih Tzu mix. I had a rough start to life and came from a home with so many dogs, that my owners could not properly socialize and care for all of us.
Due to my rough beginning, I can be fearful of people and need some time to loosen up and learn how to be a pet. I may be nippy with you, but that's just my way of letting you know I need you to go a little bit slower with me. I will likely do best in an adults only home or one where the children are older and can be patient and respect my needs.
I came into the rescue severely matted. Whoever adopts me should know that my breed requires regular grooms to clip my fur, my nails, etc. so that I do not become matted again.
