My Story

You wouldn't think that a dog so young (only seven months old) would be so calm and gentle, but Lil Louie is just that and then some! With his good manners and sweet disposition, he acts like he has come from a finishing school for dogs, but in reality this is just who he is. He was saved from the Duplin County animal shelter in March and right from the get-go, he was a gentleman in the home--housebroken and crate trained--and good with other dogs. He's quiet in his crate and walks well on a leash. His pictures may make him look larger than he is but he only weighs 48 pounds. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. A perfect package of a pup! His breed is a bit of a puzzle: The dog scanner says his face is that of a Jack Russell Terrier/Parson Terrier but he has the coloring of a hound and his body disposition and coat suggests that of a lab. We'll just call him a happy Heinz 57! Whatever his breed, though, Louie's personality is what shines through! His foster speaks highly of him and thinks he will also be good with children. No doubt about it--Louie is a great family dog!
