My Story

EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE 3PM 05/19/24 Name: Lilo Animal ID: A804287 Age: 1 year 11 months Weight: 81 lbs. About: Meet Lilo! This young, bubbly chocolate brown Labrador mix is a big (81 lbs), happy, bouncy girl who is urgently looking for a home! Lilo will need to find long-term foster care or permanent placement before 3pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Lilo found herself at the shelter in late March when her owner could no longer care for her, as Lilo was having issues with the other dogs in the home. Lilo's former family said that she is a very sweet girl with people and even did extremely well with a young child with epilepsy. Here in the shelter, Lilo has shown staff and volunteers that she is full of puppy energy and is always happy to see her staff and volunteer friends. Lilo LOVES to play fetch (so be sure to stock up on those tennis balls!), and she has done well in playgroups with other dogs, even sharing her kennel with a friend. Due to her history with dogs in her previous home, Lilo will need to meet any potential doggy roommates to be sure it's a good fit for everyone. Lilo dose have two bites on her record. The first was an accidental bite occurred in her previous home when her family was trying to separate Lilo from another dog during a fight. The owner emphasized that she did not think that Lilo meant to bite her. Lilo's second bite occurred in the shelter. After spending 10 days in quarantine due to her first bite, she was full of energy and while trying to play, accidentally got too mouthy with a handler in her excitement while she was being walked. Lilo is a young, energetic, SWEET dog - essentially a big, excited puppy - that would benefit from training and consistent exercise, which she has not been able to get in the shelter, making it urgent for her to find a home. Shelter staff feel that she will blossom in a home where she is able to have her needs met. If you are interested in long-term foster care or adopting Lilo, you must come to PACC before 3pm on Sunday May 19, 2024. You will need to meet with a counselor to review all of Lilos history and then you will get to meet Lilo in a yard.
