Lily

Meet Lily! Lily is roughly 2.5 years old. She is a 50 pound love bug that loves most dogs she meets. Her story with us started out as many country dogs do - dumped and pregnant, she ended up having her babies among the hay bales in the pasture next to our rescue. For 5 weeks we tried to coax her to us with food and love. She kept running from humans but loved to run along the fence-line and sit near to the other rescue dogs as we let them out into the play yards. FINALLY...she let one of the volunteers lure her into one of the yards with some yummy treats. She was still timid for a couple of weeks as new volunteers would come. Once we won over her heart, she began winning over all of ours and has become a volunteer favorite. She would do well with children over 6 and other dogs with proper introductions. We think Lily would do better in a home with another playmate. We have tried her with several of the other rescues, and she loves the playful ones. She has not been cat tested but this breed sometimes has a high prey drive so again, a proper introduction to a dog friendly cat is a must!!! Lily has the softest coat and barely sheds. Her adoption fee is $100 which is a great value considering she is spayed, has all her vaccinations and has been on heart worm preventative since March. Please note, since Lily has been in boarding since March, she will need some decompression time when she gets adopted. This does not take 3 hours or 3 days. Dogs typically take 3 weeks to decompress and get used to their surroundings. This decompression period should be calm and somewhat quiet. But the wait will be worth it with sweet Lily.
