Lionel

This Special Boy Needs a Special Someone Lionel is extremely friendly with all humans and loves children. He loves to play, go on walks, and is well- behaved. Lionel listens to commands, but mostly likes to roll over for belly rubs and just enjoys being a couch potato. He does great on a leash, does fine in the car, and is not much of a barker. He has no hearing or vision issues. Lionel is almost 7 years old and weighs in at 55 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Lionel had a not so great start in life. He is a tripod (missing one of his front legs) due to a severe broken leg injury from dog fighting. A rescue took him in but did not get him the vet care he needed. When Lionel was thankfully taken in by Animal Party Rescue a year later, it was too late, and his leg had to be amputated. Lionel would be a wonderful companion as an only pet. He does need a secure yard. Lionel has skin allergies and needs a fish based food – no meats. Due to his history of dog fighting, he has scarring and needs sun screen applied when he’s outdoors as he is now prone to skin cancer. Lionel is reactive to other dogs. He also has a strong prey drive for cats and farm animals. Other than dogs and other animals, he has no guarding or aggression issues. Lionel is currently being fostered in Tehachapi, CA.
