Lionel

Animal Profile: Lionel is an estimated 1-year-old 65 lb very handsome and fluffy neutered male mixed breed -- possibly shepherd retriever. He was a stray intake to the Freer animal shelter and assessed to be friendly with people and dogs of all sizes/genders. He also tested well with cats. He will be joining Dog Gone Seattle and we will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Lionel is a calm, affectionate, goofy boy. He is relatively low energy for his age and likes to lie down whenever he can. He is a bit shy with meeting new people, but warms up quickly. He is calm and patient with the neighbor's foster puppy jumping all over him. He has become fast friends with the neighbor's foster Husky and is unphased when she wants to be in charge. As he has come out of his shell a bit he is enjoying running around and doggy play time and we think he would love another balanced dog in his home. He is house trained and walks well on leash. Lionel probably won't be the best fit for super active people, but we think this sweet boy would do well with a calm family who enjoys a soft cuddly pup, walks, play time, and maybe a gentle hike. We think Lionel will do best in a single family home; fenced yard preferred. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
