My Story

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. This dog is currently located in: Mexico Name: Lisha (20240517-05) Weight: 42lbs Age: 1.5 years old Gender: Female Medical issues: None Breed: Labrador mix Colour: Light Brown Neck size (for collar): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: Good with women: yes Good with men: yes Good with children: yes, but I recommend children older than 5 because Lisha jumps up to say hello when excited Good with other dogs: yes, she loves to play Good with cats: yes House trained. yes Crate trained: no Energy level: medium energy Can be handled/touched: yes Flight risk: no Food aggressive: no Current food: generic food Barks: only when she is excited Walks on leash: yes, wears a harness Leash reactive: no Rides well in car: yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: yes Needs a home with another dog: no, but she would do well with one Can live in apartment: no, she needs space like a house with a fenced yard. History: Lisha's story begins with a heart-wrenching start – she was abandoned on the streets and left in a garbage container when she was just a puppy. Despite her difficult beginnings, Lisha is a remarkably sweet girl. She finds joy in playing with her canine companions, especially with plastic bottles and a variety of toys. Given her love for food, particularly bacon treats, she tends to be a bit on the chubby side. I believe Lisha would thrive in a family with another dog for companionship and who values spending quality time with their pets.
