LITA

LITA (short for “Pastelita”), is a sweet 2 year old dog that just wants to love and please you. She enjoys taking walks, running on the beach, “working” for treats, and being with you. Lita is a small, around 45 lbs., shepherd and lab mix. She walks nicely on leash and loves her walks. Lita likes to meet new people but she is a little shy at first. Give her a minute to sniff and she is happy to make friends. She is very affectionate once she get’s to know and trust you. Her past is sad - she was hit by a car, found in a ditch, taken to the county shelter, and scheduled for euthanasia. AFLAR (We) rescued her and arranged surgery that is allowing her to heal, live comfortably, and blossom. She is timid, and every day she is learning to trust more and show her happy and playful side. She will be a great friend and companion to some lucky person. She wants to be close to her person, however, she is fine being left alone to await your return. Lita will do best in a calm home, with a patient person or experienced dog owner that can continue to see her through the trauma she’s suffered. At least initially, she might do best as the only pet in the home, although after a short adjustment time she did fine with her mellow senior foster brother.
