Come meet Little Bo Peep and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (July 27th) from 12-2 pm at the Big Bad Woof in DC (6960 Maple St NW, Washington, DC 20012)!
Name: Little Bo Peep Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of July 2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 30.7 lbs as of 7/2024 but she is still growing!
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested
Currently Living at: DC area boarding facility
Special adoption considerations: Little Bo Peep has pretty much grown up in the shelter. She is making great strides, but she can still be quite scared in new places. She is such a great, happy dog when she's around other dogs, and we think she will do best with ample opportunities to interact with other dogs. For instance, by going to a home with a welcoming resident dog, for instance, attending doggie daycare, playing in dog parks, or just seeing other dogs in new environments.

Little Bo Peep is Looking For: Let's start with what she is NOT looking for: Her lost lamb. She IS looking for her forever home! Because she was in the shelter from the time she was a young puppy, she hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet. And she is oh so eager to explore it with her own humans! Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, lots of opportunities to make pup and people pals along the way - yes, please! Shelter staff say she is very sweet and submissive, and amazing in playgroup with other dogs. She'd also love to go to dog school to learn all about what dogs do and how to be the goodest girl!
What she really wants is a life the way it should be lived: as a well-loved dog, safe under her own roof. In exchange, oh, she has so much to give - Adoring gazes and kisses and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is she the one you see by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: Little Bo Peep is adjusting to living in a home. She is not sure what to think about doors and stairs but is adjusting and gaining more confidence. She follows our dog's lead in the dog park and loves making friends and running around with all the other dogs. She even likes getting in the water at the dog park! She has been very friendly to all the dogs and people she meets. She is still learning to walk on a leash. She is playful and likes her toys but is also a snuggler. She likes her crate and sleeps through the night without any issues. Such a sweet and happy girl!!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
