My Story

Case # 4177. Lizard, a young male black Schipperke who was found abandoned in a kennel at the shelter door . We see a lot of animals here that deserve so much more than the hand they were dealt. Lizard shouldn't be here. This sweet, very affectionate dog was hard to photograph at first; all he wanted to do was cuddle in my lap and smother me with kisses.

We don't see a lot of this fancy breed in our shelter so I looked him up on the internet. Schipperkes have a few nicknames, from little Black Tasmanian Devils (not this Sweetie!!) to Little Sailors (they don't get seasick!!). These dogs love children!

Come meet Lizard. Why would you buy from a breeder when you can adopt a beautiful treasure that someone carelessly threw away? Lizard has been neutered, tested negative for heartworms, vaccinated, placed on heartworm preventatives, and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $80.
