My Story

Courtesy Posting: STOCKTON, CA - STOCKTON SHELTER - ID #A343827- “LOGAN” – 7+ YR OLD, ADORABLE CHOW/GOLDEN RETRIEVER LOOKING BOY, 68 LB, GOOD W FEMALE DOG TESTED WITH AT SHELTER. EMERGENCY!! 5/29 deadline- LOGAN MUST EXIT THE SHELTER NO LATER THAN 5PM ON WEDNESDAY, OR HE WILL BE EUTHANIZED for space!!! SHELTER IS FULL AND ASKING FOR HELP TO SAVE HIM!!- need good home, or foster and rescue, as well as pledges! Please help us find a good home, or foster and/or rescue asap for this dear boy asap who was found as a stray and brought to the Stockton Shelter. The shelter has fondly named him Logan. The shelter says, “Logan is quite the distinguished gentleman He is listed as a 7-8 year old chow mix. Like most chows, he is very fond of the people he knows and a little wary of people he does not know. He is not fond of invasive handling and is very clear in his communication to let you know. He will growl and let you know when he is uncomfortable. He is easy to leash and absolutely loves going for walks. He enjoys being outside and he sure does LOVE his treats!! His body shows his age; he knows how to sit but has a hard time doing it. His teeth are broken and worn. He could use a little TLC but he doesn't let that bother him one bit! He is looking for an easy going home where he can enjoy some leisurely walks in between being doted on like the king he is. “ Additionally, “He is easy to leash and interact with. In the play yard, he showed to have very clear boundaries and gives absolutely beautiful feedback to other dogs. He is a gentle and dainty, and did fabulous with a young rude female husky, correcting her inappropriate behavior. Appears to be intolerant of males.” Thus, he is recommended to homes that have chow experience and or understand Asian breeds and know to go slower and respect boundaries. Best with adults only, no male dogs. We recommend a meet and greet, and a slower introduction with female dogs. However, please ALSO contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his placement, particularly if you are interested in fostering or fostering to adopt - so we can try to pair you with a rescue to help. Most rescues need a foster to save dogs like Logan. Rescue groups may email the shelter at: [email protected] and Tara Morrison at [email protected] and reference his ID. NOTE: The Shelter will neuter for a home or a rescue.
