My Story

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE DOG'S PROFILE, AS WELL AS THE INFORMATION ON OUR WEBSITE BEFORE EMAILING US WITH QUESTIONS. Our Volunteers use up valuable time answering questions, when the answers are readily available on our website. Our adoptions come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. We are a foster-based rescue. We do not have a facility. MEET & GREETS FOR DOGS IN ONTARIO WILL ONLY BE ARRANGED ONCE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IS APPROVED. THANK YOU!!! Please visit our website for more information: https://www.niagaradogrescue.com/ or fill in our adoption application: https://niagaradogrescue.com/adoption-application.php OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found. This dog is currently located in: Alabama Name: Logan (20240521-03) Age: 2 years (est DOB March 29, 2022) Weight: 50lbs Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: yes Breed: lab mix Colour: black and White Neck size (for collar): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: Good with men: yes Good with women: yes Good with kids: yes Good with dogs: yes, he lives with one other full time and there is usually 1-2 fosters there with him Good with cats: unknown, he has never lived with a cat. He has seen them. Can cat test if needed. Housetrained: yes crate trained: yes Energy level: medium- Logan will run around and jump around but will also snuggle and sit quietly Can be handled and touched: definitely, he loves pets and scratches. Barker: rarely - if inside he normally only barks if needs something. If outside he will bark some but no more than normal. Flight risk: no food aggressive: no Walks on leash: yes, walks pretty well on leash. Loves to go on walks. Leash reactive: no, never seen him be reactive Rides well in car: yes, loves to ride in the car destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: not a necessity - Logan lives well with other dogs but I think he would be happy as an only one as well. Can live in an apartment: basement apartment or townhome Backstory: Logan’s former owner lives near our local college. The woman said he belonged to her son but he was never there and she didn’t want a dog. A local foster took him in so that he didn’t have to go to the shelter, and has been with her since September 2023. Logan is one of the best dogs I’ve ever met. He is sweet, loving, and goofy. Logan loves to go for walks and pulls very little on the leash. We take our time on our walks so he can sniff everything. He loves to have his belly rubbed. If you will throw a toy you are his best friend. Logan hops around and can jump onto the bed in a single bound but he does not jump up on you. I don’t think his previous owner spent much time with him but he is very smart, has learned quickly, and is just an amazing dog. Logan is well loved and cared for here but he is ready for and deserves his own family.
