Adult Only Home Preferred, Good Dog Meet in Shelter
7/26 Per volunteer-- Lola was laying on her bed upon approach. I opened her kennel door and easily leashed her. She pancaked as she came out of her kennel and seemed overwhelmed by the barking in the kennels. I walked her through the side hallway to avoid walking through the kennels since she put the brakes on when we tried. She walked nicely by my side and seemed to perk up with words of encouragement and baby talk. Once outside she became more relaxed and peed. She allowed all over petting and enjoyed drinking from the pool of fresh water. We did a dog meet with Queso and Lola was interested in sniffing him, but not being sniffed or approached by him. We did a meet with her in Corrie next. Lola was better during the second meet, but still reserved. She was tolerant in the company of other dogs, but may need more time to adjust before coming out of her shell more. She was easily returned to kennel after walking through the side hallway.
