My Story

All HSWA dogs are either at our Dog Adoption Facility or in foster homes. All dogs require an appointment to meet. Please call us at 205-554-0011 or email [email protected] to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Visit us on Facebook! www.facebook.com/humaneswa MEET LOLA This engaging and energetic youngster is Lola, an approximately 6-month-old Whippet / Terrier mix…but we’re just guessing! A whirling dervish of irresistibleness, Lola has a smooth caramel-colored coat with a predominately white face and four white socks, and the cutest black ring around her right eye – makes it look like she’s been in a brawl and got popped! She is a small to medium-sized dog currently weighing around 34 pounds, but she’s probably got a little growing left. Lola was pulled from our local animal shelter where she had been picked up as a stray and no one came to claim her. This little girl loves her people – her whole body will spin in circles and just wriggle with excitement when she is with someone she really likes. This one has a really hard time staying still! Lola is super sweet, friendly, loving, and will take advantage of any opportunity to play! Always wanting to be the center of attention, Lola is still very much a puppy and is beginning to learn some manners. Precious Lola has a cute, fun personality and boundless energy, and she looks at life as one big adventure! Our girl is ready to take on the world! Lola is not to be an outside dog only as she likes to be with her people too much, so she will be okay in an apartment setting provided she gets lots of daily exercise. She will need a fenced yard if left outside unattended at all. Lola should make a great family pet and should be fine with children 8 and older, maybe not younger ones that she may accidentally knock over with her exuberance. She did fine with the other dogs she has been tested with so far, but she has a rough and tumble play style. We have started on her crate training. Lola is up to date on her vet care, is heartworm negative, is microchipped, and is scheduled to be spayed soon. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Our sweet and lively Lola is truly one-of-a-kind and just waiting for her forever family to come claim her and take her on lots of fun escapades!? Our adoption fee is $125.
