My Story

Lola is a super sweet, loving, young at heart, young in action 10 year old Chihuahua. She was surrendered to the Richardson shelter in a terrified state when her female owner, who she was very attached to, moved into assisted living. Lola's foster reports that she is able to jump on and off furniture, is good on a leash walking at a lively pace, is not a picky eater, has guard dog tendencies if anyone comes close to the door or windows, but quickly becomes friendly with visitors if given the space to make the first move. Lola is housetrained, and she will communicate with little sounds if she wants to go out or is hungry. She does not go wild when she sees squirrels or rabbits, but she does become outraged at the sight of FedEx and UPS trucks. She loves walks and car rides. She can be crated or left free to roam when you're away. She likes looking outside, so being able to go out in a secure backyard would be a plus for her. The former owner's family stated that Lola would do best with children no younger than 10 and that she had no problem with the other dogs in the home. Lola was also tested at the shelter with a Great Dane, a plucky Pug, and an aloof cat. She showed no fear or aggression. Please consider Lola! Be the one to turn this so sad story of surrender into a happy ending of love and belonging
