My Story

Meet Lola Bunny, a wiggly, sweet girl who was surrendered to us on 5/26 when her previous owner could no longer care for her after having a baby. Lola is full of love and adores pets and attention. Her unique look resembles a cute, cuddly potato, and she has an irresistible underbite that makes her lip get adorably stuck. If you're looking for a loving companion with quirky charm, Lola Bunny is hopping to meet you! Due to her length of stay, Lola Bunny is timestamped and urgently seeking a loving family. Don't miss your chance to make every day a Looney Tunes adventure with Lola Bunny! Hop on over and meet her today! On 6/14, Lola was noted to have a persistent upper respiratory infection and exhibited residual coughing and nasal discharge. She finished her course of doxycycline and was started on azithromycin. On 6/4, Lola's PCR test came back Positive for Mycoplasma & Herpesvirus Type 1. On 5/31, Lola came down with a URI and was started on Doxycycline. PCR test came back positive for Coronavirus & Pneumovirus. Per Staff on 5/27/24: Lola was standing by the door full body wiggling with soft eyes. She allowed for very easy leashing and was patient. No issues exiting or returning. Pulls Moderately On Leash. Was not reactive on leash at this time. Loose/Allows all handling. Lola is SO sweet. In the room she was so wiggly with us and social. She would hop back and forth between us and continuously seek out attention . She even flopped over for belly rubs and was just wagging with her tongue hanging out while petting her. She was very tolerant for full body petting and was a very goofy and affectionate girl! Gentle when given treats as well and had great manners. Engages in play. Interest in toys but does not take possession Per Volunteer on 5/26/24: I met Lola Bunny the day she came to ACCT, she was understandably showing some signs of stress in her new environment but she was such a trooper. She loooooveeesss people! She kept going back and forth between me and another volunteer for attention. She wasn't interested in treats or toys, but sure enjoyed all the pets and attention. It was a hot day, so we took her to the car for some cool A/C and quiet time and she happily sat on our laps and sucked up all the attention she could get. She even was able to relax a bit. She is an adorable chunky potato and I really enjoyed my time with her. Per Day Trip: Lola had an awesome day out yesterday! She immediately hopped onto my lap when we got into the car and flopped over for belly rubs. She definitely wants to be close to her human, but was able to settle and lay down while driving in the car. She went on a 2.5 mile walk in the Wissahickon and did great passing by at least 10 dogs. No reactivity for any of them. Ears were alert, but relaxed body and no pulling or vocalizing. She picked up the pace a little after a runner or biker went by, so she might be interested in being an exercise buddy. She went for a pup cup on main street in manayunk and met some people. She really seems to love all people and was much more interested in getting pets versus treats. She spent the rest of the afternoon cooling off in the AC and napping on our couch. We gave her a tennis ball and she carried it around the rest of the time and napped with it. Definitely would love an emotional support tennis ball in her future home! During the initial intake exam on 5/26, Lola was noted to have redness around her eyes and nose. Her coat is in good condition but appears to have some missing patches, possibly due to allergies. During the exam, she was noted to be very shy but allowed all handling. On 5/26, per her owner, Lola is high-energy, joyful, and friendly to humans but does not like other dogs. She is not housebroken and is partially working on crate training. She is also not friendly with other animals. She has never bitten but she has attempted to bite and always barks at animals and other dogs when being walked. Lola knows the commands "sit" and "stay." Her favorite toys are ones that make noise, and her favorite treats are cookies. She is friendly, excited, and playful around strangers and children. Lola is looking for a family with plenty of space and attention to give her. Videos: Lola Bunny the love bug! https://youtu.be/r7IVizgR6AU Lola Bunny & Bonnie: https://youtu.be/Y4HKWoIZb50
