We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Lola Rae, 3 years old, spayed female, Retriever/Kelpie mix, 45 pounds. She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved. Lola is an outgoing, curious, playful, and silly pup who brings joy and laughter to everyone she meets. She's a bundle of energy and always ready for an adventure, making her the perfect companion for an active household. Play Style: Lola Rae loves to play with other dogs and exhibits a high-energy play style. She can be a bit rough during playtime but is good at picking up cues from other dogs and will stop if they ask her to. Bella enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes, though she requires a bit of correction to be gentler with smaller dogs. Energy Level: Lola has a high energy level and needs at least one hour of walking a day. She thrives in a moderately to very active home where she can engage in regular physical activities like running and long walks. Without sufficient exercise, she might chew on things out of anxiety. Social Skills: With Dogs: She is initially shy when meeting new dogs but warms up quickly after a sniff and enjoys making new furry friends. With Cats: She is cat-friendly and has been around two cats. She might try to chase them playfully but never intends to harm them. With Kids: She is great with children of all ages. She has lived with kids aged 3 to 14 and enjoys playing fetch and receiving pets. She initially had a jumping issue when excited but has learned to control it with proper correction. Leash Training: She walks best with a harness as she can escape from a collar. She tends to pull at times due to her curiosity and love for sniffing around, but she responds well to corrections and will follow the lead. House & Crate Training: Lola Rae is fully housebroken and comfortable being crated. She stays in the crate overnight and when left alone at home. She needs a treat to coax her into the crate but remains calm and quiet once inside. She is still getting used to car rides and tends to move around a lot, so a leash is recommended for car trips. She knows basic commands like "sit" but would benefit from further training, especially in obedience and leash walking. She could also excel in agility or other activities that channel her energy positively. Lola has an adorable habit of perking one ear up while the other stays down, giving her a quirky and endearing look. She's always in high spirits and keeps the household lively with her playful antics. She would thrive in a home with active owners who can match her energy levels and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Her ideal family would be dedicated to consistent training and willing to engage her in fun activities to keep her entertained.
