**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics. Louie is a little pup in a big dog's body. At 1 yr. old he is energetic and full of personality and needs room to run and a home committed to training him into the model dog we know he will be. He is highly food motivated and a quick learner who is off to a good start. He will readily sit and shake paws for a treat or his food bowl and won't get out of the car until you ask him to. He is also doing well with house training. He gets along well with other dogs in the house and loves to run in the yard with them and play fetch, but can be excitable when encountering new dogs or people on his walks. He can also be a bit jumpy and playfully toothy especially in the morning when he is full of energy. For this reason we would recommend him to a couple or family who are experienced dog owners without young children. A family willing to work with him will be rewarded with an amazing new family member with a lust for life and a huge personality, not to mention his unique and dashing good looks! Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
