My Story

Adoption Pending. You can see more of these beautiful dogs by clicking on Rescue Dogs.

Beautiful, smart, super affectionate and just 8 months old, everyone loves Lucy! She has a fine boned elegance and playful, flirty attitude that make her a joy to be with. She is not recommended to be your next chicken flock guardian but is a good companion My daughter says that even though Lucy looks pure Pyr, she just can't be, because we have never had one who listens so well and is as eager to please! I think Lucy might even be a stellar obedience dog, if her adopter were so inclined. Her only vice that we can see is that she LOVES the sound of her voice, but she does listen when she is asked to be quiet. This beautiful lady won't last long. Please put your application in if you want first dibs on this young lady. At a petite 55 pounds, she will most likely stay slim and willowy.

About Us: National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a not-for-profit, tax-exempt coalition of Pyr rescuers and rescue groups. We save Pyrs and Pyr mixes across the country and place them in approved foster homes to learn how they will interact with your family. Every dog who is fostered or adopted makes room for another Pyr coming out of a kill shelter. NGPR dogs are fostered for a minimum of two weeks or more, spayed or neutered and fully vetted before placement. NGPR will take back any dog who does not succeed in its new home. Many NGPR volunteers are members of the AKC breed club, adhere to their rescue guidelines for purebred Pyrs and apply these standards to the adoption of Pyr mixes as well. Visit www.nationalpyr.org to learn more about us, our mission and our breed.
