Lover

My name is Lover, and, boy, am I correctly named! I’ll gently lean into you and allow you to pet me probably forever. If you’d prefer using two hands, I’ll also roll on my back for a belly rub. I’m a Beagle Bassett mix and weigh about 37 pounds. I’m surprisingly light on my feet the two times a day I get playful (right before breakfast and right after dinner). Other times, I’m happy to make sure the couch or chair stays put under me. I’m extremely gentle. Foster mom was very happy to see how very gentle I was with the children who visited with me at the adoption events I’ve attended. Foster mom does think I’d do best in a home with a fenced in yard. Foster mom has to take me out on a leash and I LOVE to sniff every blade of grass when I am outside. I whimper and bark when I smell something particularly interesting. I often forget that I have a job to do out there. That doesn’t mean I mess in the house, because I usually don’t, but it can take me a long time to get it done. Foster mom, now that the weather’s nice, sits and reads while waiting for me. I have not had a pee accident in the house since I’ve been here - I have pooped inside a couple of times, but we’re working n that. I’m happy to be crated at night and when my foster parents are gone. I do have double dewclaws on both of my back hind legs. No need to worry; the vet checked them out and because they’re knuckled, they recommend not removing them.
