LUCKY

Lucky (A135165) is a 4-year-old Pitbull x Lab mix who weighed 53.4 pounds on intake! 07/08/24 This handsome boy is Lucky! Lucky was surrendered to the shelter because a family member developed allergies to him. Luckys prior owner had nice things to say about him, and surrendering was a difficult decision. He was said to be housebroken and would whine when he needed to go outside. Lucky was also said to ride well in a vehicle but does not know many basic commands. He has appeared to be treat-motivated, which is helpful when it comes to training. We encourage his next owner to bring him to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. Lucky was said to be jealous of babies but has done well with children and adults in the past. He does have a rough style play and was known to give love nibbles to his humans. Lucky was known to bark at strangers when they approached his last home but did well meeting new people if his humans were present. Please ensure you are always doing appropriate introductions with new friends. Lucky would do best in a single pet home as he was said to annoy the cat in his last home and is very skeptical of new dogs. He was said to have previously had a negative encounter with another dog, which has led him to be skittish towards new dogs. If you plan on introducing him to new friends, please ensure you do so appropriately. Lucky was seen by the shelter vet on arrival at the shelter due to having an upset stomach. He has been started on an appropriate treatment plan to help with his gi upset and is doing much better! If you are interested in meeting Lucky, please let us know!
