Lucy

Lucy is a two year old dachshund terrier mix who is 15 pounds. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has taken awhile to open up after the past trauma she endured in her last home. She is on prozac to help ease her transition. Her favorite place in the world is curled up like a baby in the arms of her person. She lives for scratched and pets.She is weary of men and would bite a stanger. She would do best in a home without men ideally. She does well with women as long as they let her warm up at her own speed. She is great with other dogs and cats and will let them take the lead. She will cuddle with other animals and also likes to perch on higher ground and watch everything going on around her (cat tree, dining table a few times, etc). She would love to sleep in bed with her humans and loves her person's pillow. She also loves dog beds in front of the fireplace. She will let certain dogs take her food so would do best fed separately. She is not yet potty trained but loves to be outdoors when it's not raining. She does best if her human goes outside with her until she potties. THE IDEAL HOME: -Is just female humans and doesn't have many men visit -Is patient and ok with a dog that takes time to settle in -Has a home and securely fenced yard as she does bark and loves to be outside in nice weather -Has a canine/feline friend or two that are chill and friendly -Will not crate her due to past trauma -Is willing to work on potty training To be considered, please apply on our website: https://www.portlanddachshundrescue.org/adoptionform
