Luigi

Meet Luigi!! He is an endless ball of energy, cuddles, and mischief. He is incredibly smart and when tuckered out is very teachable as long as you have his attention. A fenced in yard would be ideal and extremely helpful in letting this little 1 year old Beagle pup get all those zoomies out. Typical of his breed, all this guy wants to do is sniff, explore, and chew on everything within reach. He really loves toys and is easily redirected with a bone or toy but squeakers don’t stand a chance and only the toughest of chew toys will last more than a minute with this guy. He is incredibly loving and cuddly when given the proper amount of exercise and attention but if he is not given the opportunity to get all that energy out, he tends to find himself new and exciting ways to cause trouble. Luigi will be best in a home with Beagle-experience as he will need a human willing to dedicate the time to keep up with his training and teach him how to be an inside dog. He has been doing well in his crate and sleeps through the night. He is getting better with house-training and leash-training but more work and focused dedication will be required to get him all the way there. He has the sweetest eyes and the most comically oversized velvety hound ears. He absolutely revels in getting pets and sitting in the laps of his humans and is extremely eager to please – he’s just still trying to figure out what exactly that entails. Luigi would do well with a doggy friend who can match his energy – all this guy wants to do is play. However, he may be a little bit much for any senior dogs or couch potatoes in the home. Small children may not be the best fit for him either, though he is not large at about 24 pounds – he does have a tendency to jump up for attention or food and would easily and shamelessly snatch things from a child’s hand.
