My Story
Hi friends! My name is Lula, and I’m an adorable 2-year-old female Maltese/Bichon mix! I am both fully vaccinated and spayed already, and I weigh a cute and compact 15 pounds! I am fully potty trained, crate trained, and I walk amazingly on a leash if I do say so myself!
I first came to The Cantu Foundation when my previous owners were neglectful and didn’t take care of me, but it’s their loss and I’m so excited to find my forever family! I sometimes need a little time to get to know another pup and people, and I might be a bit hesitant around men at first. It is unknown how I am around cats. I have lmild separation anxiety when left alone for too long, but that’s only because I miss you but I’m sure once I’m settled I’ll be fine! Once I’m comfy with you, I am super cuddly, affectionate, and playful! I can hang out quietly on your lap, next to you, or in my crate.
I have mild energy, and I’m somewhat independent but also love being with my human. I enjoy the occasional public outing, preferring quiet parks over busy events, and I’ve grown to be more comfortable with car rides. Initially nervous, I now jump in and out of the car with ease.
My favorite things to do are going for walks, snuggling, napping in my crate, and playing with my toys. Once I trust you, I enjoy zoomies and belly rubs! If my foster parents had to describe me in 3 words, they would be snuggly, cautious, and insistent (I love being pet and having belly rubs!).
My ideal home would be with mellow humans who love to stay home and chill with me. I would thrive in a yard where I can run and play, and I might do best as the only dog or with a dog that respects my boundaries. I haven't met kids, but I'd likely do best in a home with older kids who know boundaries. I love attention and would especially love a family who is home most of the time, giving me the time and space to decompress and trust.
My adoption fee is $400. This fee covers my first year of vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. Do I sound like the dog for you? You can fill out an application to adopt me at (http://www.thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html)
