Husky Mix - Female - 30 lbs - 10 months (approx.) Meet Miss Lulu! She is a 10 month old Husky mix, approximately 30lbs, who shouldn't get much bigger. At first glance you will realize what a perfect " medium " size dog she is. Lulu knows her name, and has good recall. She is housetrained, she will paw the bell on the back door when she wants to go out, and scratch on the door when she is ready to come back in. Lulu loves her daily walks and looks forward to exploring the neighborhood. Lulu walks with minimum pulling, and corrects nicely as needed. Lulu is a friendly soul who interacts well with people and other dogs. No idea how she would do with cats, as to date she hasn't experienced one. Lulu sleeps in a corral in her foster parents bedroom without issue, (At the moment her sleep pattern is 11pm to 8am), she is crated when left alone. Relaxing dog music along with a Kong or two help her settle in, although she's not a fan of crate time. Lulu knows basic commands such as sit, shake a paw, and catch a treat, Stay is a work in progress. She loves playing fetch and will return the ball until she's had enough. This little girl is very smart, and food motivated so training should continue to progress in a timely fashion. Lulu came into the rescue with injuries that resulting in pelvic fractures. After consulting with an orthopaedic surgeon it was felt Lulu would not require surgery. With strict crate rest and and pain management, Lulu was given time to heal. Periodic x-rays throughout this period showed that she was progressing as hoped. Lulu recently had a final set of x-rays and her primary care vet is very pleased with her. She is a happy, healthy, and active girl who will have no restrictions or limitations moving forward. Her range of motion will never be 100% but this will have no impact on her quality of life.
