My Story

Heartbreak alert! Get your tissues ready. One of our favorites has returned to us. Her heart has been broken not once, but twice now, through no fault of her own either time. 2 years ago Luna (previously Niecy) came to us thin, not well cared for. She was kept outside and seemed like she did not have a lot of interaction with people before coming to us. She was an easy walker then and now. We were thrilled when she found her forever hooman and left for a great life. Fast forward 2 years and her heart breaks all over again as her hooman could no longer care for her. Luna is only 4 but seems older and lays flat on the floor in her kennel with her head pressed down like she has 1/2 ton of sadness weighing her down. But we know she will land on her feet again. She is such a sweet gentle soul just pleading for someone to give her the next forever life. She spends her time making her wish list: Wish #1: Hoomans to love and pet me. Go slow tho - I'm overwhelmed right now. She is not a dog that might do well with small active kids and a lot of excitement right now. Wish #2 :To live inside a house with my hoomans. Wish #3: Luxury spa day. Nice things that will make my skin feel better. Painted nails negotiable. (I get more than 3 wishes? Yippie...) Yummy treats. Nice walks. A friend to talk to on my soft bed. I am an... Easy walker. 64 pounds. Gentle personality & good manners. Volunteer favorite. Not reactive to cats or dogs that we have seen so far. Previously playful, but not very spirited right now. She has soulful eyes, that look a little lost right now. Luna might take a bit of time to open up and trust again. But she's worth it. A few car rides for chicken nuggets and she will warm right up. Who wants to be her forever hero? You don't need to have super powers, just be committed to giving her good care, love and attention. Previous Bio 2022: Niecy is a darling, gentle girl who has a bit of a playful side. We don't quite know her backstory, but she did come in very thin from a home where she was kept outside without proper care. She can be shy at first, but after a few good treats and some head scratches, you'll see her start to come out of her shell. She'll need a family who will go slow with her as she adjusts to her new home. She's a super good girl who deserves a loving home! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 60.2lbs Age: 4yrs 6mths 1wks Animal has been Spayed
