Luna

Luna is a lovely adolescent German Shepherd girl. She is an eye catcher and quite sweet but was not socialized as a young puppy and therefore may seem distant and can be slow to warm up to people and new situations. She is sensitive and will take time to trust. So, if you are looking for an instant lap dog or cuddle buddy, please keep looking as this is not the girl for you. Luna begins as an observer from a distance until she feels comfortable and safe in her environment and her people will need to understand this and help her. For example, Luna prefers to dine al fresco – yes, Miss Fancy Pants likes to eat her meals outside on the patio so that she has her own space when she eats. She is sensitive so no other animals, dogs, or humans can interfere or she will walk away and not eat. Did we mention she’s sensitive? She loves going on walks and exploring sidewalks, paths, parks, and for her it is a giant sniff fest! She does have a basket full of toys but loves chewing her split antler the best. This may change somewhat as she gets older and needs less teething chewing but for now, Luna can chew! When she selects a toy from the toy basket to chew on, she will chew until she is bored, distracted, or falls asleep. She is very good at independent play. Luna would love to have a calm, confident, and playful dog sibling to continue to help her learn the ropes of a luxurious life. A dog of comparable size and energy would be the best companion. A calm, quiet home environment without children, but filled with patience and love, will be Luna’s ideal match.
