My Story

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information. Luna B. is on the at risk list due to behavior concerns. Luna B in kennel has been highly stressed and has began to pace, bark incessantly towards other dogs and people in the room and panting heavily despite best efforts to keep her comfortable. Luna B is social with staff members but is not acclimating well to the shelter environment. Medically, Luna B. is overweight and has dental disease stage 2/4. All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered when appropriate. Please check here for updated adoption hours. A bit about me: Luna B. was brought to Manhattan ACC after her owner was unable to care for her any longer. My ideal home: While we don't have a history on Luna B., we do know she's an energetic and enthusiastic who will thrive with daily mental and physical activities. To keep her happily engaged and exercised, we recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and fun hide-and-seek games, along with plenty of physical exercise. With the right activities, her energy and enthusiasm will be positively directed! Good with other pets? Luna B. was a little unsure when she met another dog at the shelter. She was initially tense when a dog play bowed to her. However, when she was off leash with a gentler dog, she was more receptive and went up to that dog to greet them. Due to her selectiveness, we do not recommend dog parks for Luna B. She might get along well with new doggy friends with proper introductions and socialization. We always suggest slow introductions with resident pets, and we offer a 2-week trial adoption to help you see if Luna B. is a good fit with your family. Since ACC doesn't test with cats, we're not sure how she'd do with feline friends, but we can help you with tips and advice on how to do proper introductions! Good with kids? Since Luna B. came to us as a stray, we don't have much information about her past. For now, we think she'll do best in a home that will allow her to decompress at her own pace. Slow introductions are always recommended to provide the most optimal experience for a dog. With a bit of patience, she'll be a wonderful addition to a loving family! How is my health? Luna B. is a little overweight and has some dental concerns that our staff will discuss with you. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 68lbs Age: 6yrs 1mths 3wks Animal has been Spayed
