My Story

Meet miss Luna Tuna, a beautiful girl with a sad story. Luna was used for breeding her whole life. She was surrendered when she could no longer be used as a money machine for her former owner. We're now hoping Luna can find a home with someone who will care for her and love her for the first time in her life. Luna is available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email [email protected]. She was easy to leash and did great for her dog meets. She allowed pets and was easy to return to kennel. Very sweet girl! Per Staff 7/20/24:BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: -Owner surrender KENNEL PRESENTATION: -Luna Tuna was laying next to her bed, taking a nap when I approached. She looked up with neutral eyes when I called her, but didn't move. I opened the door, crouched down, and tossed my leash in for her to smell. She came forward and sniffed the leash and me nicely, but began anxiously pacing in a circle. She came back to the crack in the door and put her head right through the loop I prepared. She came out on her own once secured. LEASH SKILLS: -Pulls minimally HANDLING: -When we got to the room Luna was still pretty anxious. She paced the room stress panting, but approached me on her own when I sat down. She lead against my legs lightly and allowed some body pets. She pushed her head under my hand lightly and solicited some head pets as well, but quickly walked away after a few seconds. Luna came when called with bright eyes, and lowered her head when she got close and pushed her head into my chest. I offered her treats but she was too stressed to take any. She did show me that she knows "sit though! Luna allowed all over handling with a neutral body and eyes, and would sit on my feet and lean against my legs for comfort. For the rest of our time Luna would go back and forth between standing by the door and leaning against me, seeking comfort and attention. She's a little anxious and stressed, but still sweet and affectionate.
