My Story

Arrival story:Lyndsay was surrendered by her owners. Lynsday was shy and scared until we took her into our group but now that she is in a structured daily routine, she is thriving as a "normal" dog.

Approximate age & weight: 1-3 years, 35 lbs. She has the head/muzzle/size of a Brittany Spaniel but the smooth, sleek coat of a black lab. She looks like a mini-black lab.

Personality: Lyndsay is a very sweet, loving and good girl. She is shy and scared of men at first and it will take her some time to trust them but once she gets to know you, she is a very loving girl. She is great with kids, dogs, cats alike. She seems to like boy dogs best (does fine though with females) and she likes to be the dog in charge, although she is content for the human to be the alpha. She is housebroken and up to date on her vetting. She just eats up human attention.

Forever home:Lyndsay would do best in a quieter home where she would get a consistent routine, have the ability to play with another playful dog (preferably male since she prefers them over females) but she would be ok as an only dog too. She also needs a home with a physical fence only - no electric fences for her. She is not high energy nor is she a couch potatoe. She would love a long, daily walk or even a run.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at Petco in Novi (on Novi Rd south of 12 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
