My Story

Fall 2009. Update - Very loving boy who definitely likes to play with other dogs. He thinks every dog is his friend! And people too! Good with kids - however, still being a pup he could potentially knock a child over. McGruff is somewhat of a clumsy goofy boy. Such a sweetheart! Can climb a standard size fence - so beware. He's quick to learn. -- Mcgruff was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. Stray - no one came looking for him! He was becoming kennel stressed. No exercise and little interaction will cause this. Now safe - we're searching for a loving adoptive home. "Mac" is a pup at or near 1 year old and gaining weight : 80 pounds. He needs to "fill out," .... a little more growing to do. Friendly with people and seems fine with other dogs. Mac likes to play and typically, smell everything! We doubt he'd be good with cats. As with all hounds, a large fenced yard is needed and some outside interaction to help burn off puppy energy. Calm inside the home. Rather laid back. Still learning about Mac. Neutered, vaccines up to date, heartworm negative and monthly prevention started. Micro chipped. Also, Mac had surgery correcting a right "cherry eye." (not unusual for this breed) Medical term entropian. His vision is fine & the cherry eye is healing. Adoption fee $260.
