Magic Mike

This unbelievably gorgeous, sweet big boy is Mike. His story is so sad and we are all dreaming for him to find incredible parents who will be everything he’s ever longed for. Mike was born to a family who lived in a trailer park and the owners did not spay and neuter their dogs, and had an accidental litter. They sold/gave away all the puppies but picked Mike to keep, because they thought he was so beautiful and sweet. Sadly, giving him up likely would have been the kindest choice. Mike was raised in a small trailer with several children and other dogs. Sadly his family became no longer able to care for their animals or home, and this heartbroken boy ended up in the pound. He had only known the family he had and was so scared in the pound. Pounds are all full and his time was rapidly up. Thank goodness a wonderful animal lover learned of the whole situation and agreed to save Mike on euthanasia day at the pound, scooping him up and bringing him home. The moment he was saved he hopped into the truck and immediately gave the volunteer kisses on her arms, face, anywhere. He was so enthusiastic with his gratitude that someone gave him a chance, and showed him love. Mike has since gone to the vets and did very well. He is about 2 years old and a combination of shepherd, lab and husky. He is unbelievably intelligent like a shepherd, and pays close attention to all things. That said, at his heart, with his humans he acts like the quintessential super mushy lab. He is so affectionate it’s adorable. He’s also quite a big boy, so his forever home hopefully is longing for a big lap dog! He has had all of his medical work completed and is current on vaccines, heartworm testing, microchipping, deworming, preventative and is neutered. He’s officially ready to find love, and is so hopeful that is soulmate humans are out there. Mike has adjusted so beautifully into his foster home. He has found such joy in love and snuggles with humans, and having a meaningful relationship with another dog. He’s currently fostered with our husky named Nikita (who is also listed and available for adoption). Having a big sister to love, to play with, to snuggle with, and who will show him the ropes means everything to him. It gives him confidence and that kind of companionship means so much to him. That said, we would love for him to go to a home where he will have a big sister! Mike is exceptionally intelligent and pays attention to everything. He’s eager to win over his humans love and genuinely loves to hug and cuddle with his people. It was clear that he truly tried to be the bestest boy he could be in his old home, and just wants the chance to show a wonderful human what a truly good boy he is. He is one of the most perfectly loving dogs we’ve ever met. He will steal a kiss from you any chance he gets, as his way of saying thank you, I love you. He’s just so intelligent and pays such excellent attention to his humans. He always wants to do the right thing and be the best he can be for you. He’s excellent in the house and a true pleasure. Mike will be the most loyal and loving dog you could ever dream of, and whomever chooses to welcome this boy into their hearts will be embarking on one of the most beautiful, meaningful relationships of a lifetime.
