Mairabel

Meet Mairabel! Mairabel entered Chula Vista Animal Care Facility as a stray. When she wasn't claimed, we scooped her up on April 17th to become a Frosted Face. She is 8 years old and weighs just under 12 lbs. She is a very sweet and fun girl, as you can see in her videos! Mairabel went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about her in a home environment, all while she enjoyed lots of love and fun experiences. She has now been in her Fling home for four weeks, and we received a great update from her Fling Family: "Mairabel aka Mara with the Mittens would be someone's perfect lap dog. She is also a great travel buddy and got to travel a lot this weekend! She started the weekend off on Friday by staying at a house with 2 cats and a 40lb dog. She had fun playing with the dog! She then took a drive to Laguna Beach to meet up with friends. After a beach walk, she was calm and collected at dinner. Mara got the day off on Sunday, where she spent most of the day on the couch or on our laps. On Monday, we took Mara to Mt. Laguna for a hike/carry. While Mara is a great travel buddy, she also enjoys a day at home. She is cuddly and playful, prefers short walks and would rather play fetch or with other dogs to exercise. She also enjoys chewing on toys. She always sleeps on the bed with us at night. Mairabel prefers wet food, but happily eats dry food. We fed her in a separate room when we had other dogs over. She was opportunistic when cat food was within reach. Mairabel sleeps through the night, and when left alone, she can hold it for up to 7 hours. If someone is home, she has to go out more often. Mairabel can be wary of strangers and bark, but she is easily won over with treats! She will bark at dogs on walks, but she is friendly once she meets them. She played and lived with an energetic 4 yr. old doodle for a day or two. She does okay with cats but will sometimes chase them. Mairabel would be a great addition to any family. She is very sweet and has a lot of personality." Mairabel is ready for a forever home!
