My Story

All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered when appropriate. Please check here for updated adoption hours. A bit about me: Majesty came to us when NY State Police found her wondering Roberto Clemente State Park. At first she was not interested in hard treats but when offered Vienna sausages her tail went wild! My ideal home: Majesty is a nice dog who enjoys the company of humans. She is also a fan of pools and enjoys drinking directly from the hose when we fill up the pools in our yard. She loves treats of all kinds and will stop everything if she thinks a treat is coming her way. She is shy but she is doing her best to acclimate to shelter life after having been abandoned in a park. It is clear Majesty is just longing for someone to love her and never again abandon her. She would do great in a home where her people are active and like walks, fetch and other forms of exercise. Activities such as long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, along with regular exercise, will help channel her energy positively. Good with other pets? Majesty has been fearful around other dogs while in our care. She gets tense and her tail tucks in, but she shows no aggression. Since ACC does not do cat-testing in care, we are unsure of how she would be with cats. Good with kids? Majesty is uncomfortable with touch and novel stimuli, so we feel that an adult-only home would be best for now. How is my health? Majesty has received a full exam by our veterinarians and is in good health! Our medical staff said she is particularly fond of Greenie pill pockets. She will need to be spayed before adoption. How are my leash manners? Majesty walks well on a leash but can pull a bit at times. She went on a Boroughbreak day trip to Central Park and was very good on the leash and the only issue ever came up was if she saw a squirrel or another dog, she would try to jump at them. She was described as shy on her boroughbreak. What is my behavior assessment? Majesty has been assessed at Level 3 - She will need to go to a home with experienced adopters, and we suggest that the adopter have prior experience with the challenges described and/or an understanding of the challenge and how to manage it safely in a home environment. Majesty is as pretty as a princess. Whether its a poufy pink tutu or a stylish bandanna, Majesty wears it with the grace of a royal! Her silver-grey coat is soft like velvet, and her bubbly personality shines through during playtime, as she happily chases a ball.
