We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Major Aster, 1 years old, neutered male, black mouth cur/ Staffordshire Terrier mix, 55 pounds. Major is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Major and his two brothers were saved from an overcrowded shelter in San Antonio. They have been residing in the same foster home. One of the brothers has been adopted and Major is patiently waiting his turn! Smart Major- Major is good-natured and sweet. He is the most easy going and mellow of the trio. He matches the energy of other dogs, so if they want to romp around he's happy to do so. If not, he will just quietly walk around. He has had some playtime with a Shitzu puppy and was very sweet with her. He would play bow and roll around on the floor to be at her level. He is SMART- he picked up on "sit" within minutes and has "stay" and "no speak" almost down. He's very intuitive and seems to really understand what you want from him when he's in a focused mood. He is very treat motivated for training. He is very loyal and will occasionally lean against your leg for some pets before running off to play more. He lives in a foster home with cats but we're not sure if he's cat friendly just yet. He barks and wants to chase the cats when he sees them, and the cats run away before they actually encounter one another. The cats and Major are kept separated by baby gates. Major also shares a home with a 9 year old child and LOVES her. They have become good friends. He has a great temperament and seems very intuitive about his size and appropriate behavior. We think he would do great around any ages of children. We always recommend a home with kids who understand and respect animal boundaries. Major likes to be in front and will sometimes pull on leash. He likes to sniff things and explore, so often will cross in front, go around or behind, step down into the street or pull. He is crate trained and house broken. Major is a good-natured sweetheart. He loves balls and his Kong treat toy, especially when filled with peanut butter. He is VERY loyal, intuitive and smart and loves tummy rubs ? Major would thrive in an active home. He loves to go on walks and we think with some guidance would make a really great running buddy. His forever home would be understanding he is a young dog who needs structure and consistency. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
