My Story

MARIA is an adorable medium mix of some sort with a lot of energy and super playful. She's a bit over a year old. Our best guess is possibly she's got some Jack Russell and maybe cattle dog in her? She plays well with other dogs and is good with cats. She's housetrained and loves people (will sometimes jump a bit and get mouthy when excited and first comes out of her crate or meets someone new but stops when told to stop) She's great on her leash and really enjoys walks with her foster around the neighborhood. One foster felt it was best to feed her away from other animals so she’s not afraid her food will be taken away - she was starved when she came to us. Her current foster hasn't experienced that, so it may be something she outgrew as she felt more secure again. Because of her jumpiness, we think only kids 12 and over would be best for a home for Maria. Maria does love to be near her human all of the time that she can and will be your shadow around the house. She's done great with housetraining and is about there and will do fine with positive reinforcement in her new home, after she acclimates. Adoption fee covers: all vetting to age (including deworming, deflea etc ), spay/neuter and microchip after 6 months of age at our clinic, $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes, and lifetime support of rescue. Please fill out an APPLICATION here for consideration: www.tinyurl.com/appshdr (copy and paste link into browser window if link is not active in your browser). We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. PLEASE NOTE: If a dog is listed as Adoptable, he or she is still available at that time. Also, our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (NOT including Canada - sorry!)
