Here is an update on Marie. We now think she is a Portuguese Water dog or water dog cross since she has been groomed and her personality and temperament have come out. She is a funny sweet dog that is also bold, independent and loving. She has lots of energy and loves to go for walks, rides in the car or anything her people like to do. She is enjoying her life as a house dog ( she was a stray in her past life ) and her favorite place to be is on the couch playing with her toys or in your lap getting lots of love.

Marie gets along with other dogs but being an only dog where someone will be able to devote their time to her training would be best. Of course play dates would be great! Marie is about 40 pounds and is beween 1 and 2 years old so she is very much still a curious puppy.

A good home for Marie would be one with a fenced yard as she will follow her nose off into the wild blue yonder, no young children as she has a food fetish, and no cats because she is a hunter by nature. Someone who is willing to spend time training her with firmness but patience will continue to make Marie into a great companion dog.
